Bill is the newest member of the Otey Smith & Quarles team, joining the firm as an attorney in October 2018. He represents clients in the areas of estate planning, residential real estate, commercial real estate, and contract review and drafting.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Bill was a Major League Baseball player, pitching in over 250 games for the Washington Nationals and Cincinnati Reds. As a player, Bill was actively involved in the Major League Baseball Players Association, serving as an elected team representative for the Cincinnati Reds players. He also served on player licensing and executive subcommittees.
After retiring from baseball in 2014, Bill returned to Williamsburg to finish his undergraduate degree at the College of William & Mary and subsequently enrolled at the Marshall-Wythe School of Law, earning his J.D. in 2018.
Bill and his wife, Elaine, along with their four children, live in Williamsburg.
